Censis 2026: Veterinary Medicine Ranks First in Italy

Dipartimento di Medicina Veterinaria dell'Università degli studi di Sassari

Once again this year, the Single-Cycle Master’s Degree Programme in Veterinary Medicine has ranked first in Italy in the 2026/2027 Censis Rankings.

With a score of 100.5, the degree programme retains the top position in the national ranking, seven points ahead of the University of Padua, which ranks second. This result further strengthens the reputation of veterinary education in Sassari and recognises the long-term commitment of the entire Department community.

The achievement reflects the joint efforts of the Department and the University of Sassari, also supported by the Sardinia Region, which has invested more than €1.7 million in the development of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital.

First place in the Censis Rankings confirms the strength of the work carried out so far and also represents a responsibility for the future.

The 2026/2027 rankings also mark a historic achievement for the University of Sassari as a whole, which ranks first among Italy’s medium-sized state universities, with an overall score of 93.2.
